There are people who leave a lasting impression with their positive energy and impressive life story alone – Kerstin is just such a person. She strengthens our office team and brings not only a wealth of expertise, but also a great deal of joie de vivre.
We sat down to find out more about the person behind the CV – and one thing is for sure: there’s never a dull moment with Kerstin!
Hello Kerstin, welcome to HNS! You’ve already experienced a lot. Why don’t you tell us how your career started? How did it continue?
“Thank you very much, I’m delighted to be here! My career began in the catering industry. I realized early on how much I enjoyed working with people and working with food. I completed my training as a chef in 2000. Due to my great personal interest in nutrition and health, I completed further training to become a medically certified nutritionist. As that wasn’t enough, I went on to become a master chef. That was the starting signal for an exciting time in which I worked in various hotels and gained a lot of experience. I particularly liked how you can achieve great results through good teamwork and creativity.”
It sounds like you were always on the lookout for new challenges back then. What happened next?
“Absolutely, I love to develop myself further! After a few years in the catering industry, I decided to do my master’s degree as a housekeeping manager. This degree gave me a deeper insight into operational processes and the organization of service and kitchen. With this knowledge, I was able to work as a department manager at the AMANO Group – a position that was not only professionally exciting, but also showed me how important a good team is.”
But that wasn’t the end of your journey, was it?
“Exactly, I wanted to get to know even more facets. I then switched to the delicatessen area, where I worked as a specialist sales assistant. Later, I was able to use my skills in customer service. Finally, I spent the last four years working in the front office at Alpha Sports GmbH. I really enjoyed this position because I was able to develop my organizational skills there. I am simply someone who likes to try out new things and always challenge myself.”
Now you are part of HNS. What made you decide to come on board with us?
“I am always open to new things, and HNS immediately appealed to me. The opportunity to work in a new team and take on a variety of tasks immediately appealed to me. Here I will be taking care of invoicing, bookings, terminations and contract filing – and I will be supporting Dörthe and Janine with their tasks. But I’m sure there’s a lot more in store for me, and that’s exactly what I like. You never stop learning, and I’m looking forward to learning a lot more at HNS.”
What do you personally bring to the team?
“I would say my zest for life and my life experience. I’m honest, reliable and always up for a bit of fun. I enjoy working with people and I think my diverse professional knowledge helps me to quickly familiarize myself with new tasks. I also like to laugh – and hopefully that rubs off on my colleagues.”
What do you do when you’re not at work?
“In my free time, I prefer to be outside. I love exploring nature on my bike or simply going for a walk. Animals play a big part in my life and I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Traveling is also one of my passions – I love discovering new places and cultures. And of course music is a must: I listen to anything that puts me in a good mood!”
Is there anything else you would like to tell our readers about yourself?
“I’m looking forward to making a difference at HNS and working with a great team.”
