What do you do if you feel at home in the hotel industry, love technology, and enjoy talking to guests as much as you do to databases? Exactly, you end up with us. Jacqueline is now joining our team as Project Manager Customer Support & Services, working remotely from beautiful Münster. She knows how hotel software works. She not only knows the hotel industry, she has lived it. She loves to help. And she never forgets what really matters: patience, openness, and good instincts.
We spoke with Jacqueline and quickly realized: she fits in with us like a guest room fits in with the booking process.
Jacqueline, take us along: What does a career path look like when it starts in hotel corridors and ends up in our support department?
Traditional. Curious. Determined. I completed a traditional training program to become a hotel manager at a castle hotel where silverware was still used for serving. After that, I worked in service, at the front desk, and in reservations. Then, in 2009, I moved to the front office. First as an employee, then as a shift supervisor, and later as an assistant manager. In 2014, I left the front desk and entered the digital world, starting at protel in Dortmund. For over ten years, I supported hotels there: in support, installations, booking engines, channel managers, OTAs, and everything that goes with it.
In short: I come from a practical background and love technology. Or to put it another way: I understand what hotels need. And I know how to make it happen.
What others call tickets is more like a little adventure for you, isn’t it?
Absolutely. For me, support is like a good puzzle: you never know what’s coming, but there’s always a solution. I’m one of those people who doesn’t stop until the problem is solved. Patient, because sometimes it takes longer. Open-minded, because every customer is different. And loyal to the system, the hotel, and the goal.
I like to immerse myself in things, reconstruct processes in my head, and I’m happy when I can trigger that famous “aha!” moment in someone else. The great thing about HNS is that I can combine my love of the hotel industry with my passion for software. It doesn’t get any better than that.
What’s on your to-do list at HNS and what’s on your wish list?
I assist our customers with support, big and small questions, tricky and very simple issues. I will also gradually take on my own customer projects. What helps me with this?
A clear head, a calm disposition, and an inner compass that not only accepts tasks but also reliably completes them down to the last detail.
Jacqueline is not only focused and deeply relaxed, she is also someone who absorbs knowledge like a sponge and best of all, she connects the dots. She recognizes connections, asks the right questions, and always thinks one step ahead. In short, Jacqueline is a gem. And we’re not the only ones who say so.
And how does it feel to work from Münster when the team is based in Berlin?
Surprisingly close. I work remotely from Münster. With a lot of heart, a lot of coffee, and a team that is very close despite the distance. It’s perfect for me: I’m flexible, my family benefits from it, and at HNS I still feel like I’m right in the middle of things.

When the laptop is closed, who is Jacqueline then?
Then I am a mother, explorer, and bon vivant. In my free time, I am wherever my children are. On my bike, at the playground, or on a treasure hunt in the forest. I love being outdoors, experiencing culture, trying out new restaurants, or simply spending the evening with friends. If I were to be sent to a desert island—don’t worry, I wouldn’t voluntarily consider it—there are three things I would definitely need to take with me: a radio (music is essential), my sunglasses (optimism in accessory form), and my family. I couldn’t do without them.
Jacqueline, how wonderful that you’re here.
You impressed us with your very first sentence and convinced us with every one that followed. We are delighted to have you on the team. And we wish you not just a good start, but a truly wonderful journey with us.
