Our development team has welcomed a new member, Peter. As Head of Software Development, he is not only in charge of development, but also supports the team with his experience and fresh perspective to further improve our products and develop high-quality and, above all, innovative solutions.
Peter has everything you need to manage a department in the best possible way. After all, he was employed at Protel / Planet for the last 21 years and was primarily responsible for the development of the IDS interfaces. As a result, he came into contact with HNS at an early stage and familiarised himself with our systems from the IT side. The fact that he is not only an expert in IT is also demonstrated by the many areas in which he worked at Protel: team leader, developer, roadmap planner, supporter and direct contact for all questions relating to the product. He was practically the allrounder of the company.
- What brought you to HNS? After more than 2 years of standstill at Planet, I am now looking forward to getting things moving again. Together with my motivated team, I want to develop high-quality products, improve existing products and take them even further.
- What will be your new favourite task with us? Motivating the team and paving the way for them to create the best products in the world for our customers. Only those who are motivated are also productive and creative.
- You work for us from your home office. Where are you from? I am a ‘Dortmunder by choice’ and stayed after my studies because I found the love of my life here. As my son is studying in Dortmund and my wife has had a permanent job for 25 years, moving to Berlin was out of the question for me.
- What should you definitely do in Dortmund? Well, unfortunately there’s not much in Dortmund. If you like football, then you should visit the Football Museum. Die-hard football fans should try to get a ticket for a BVB home game. A crowd of 80,000 people is definitely worth the experience. Otherwise, Dortmund is more of a ‘residential city’ and not a tourist highlight.
- Your favourite way to spend your free time is…? I’m a family person and my favourite thing to do is spend time with them. I’m also a functional model maker and model 1:14 scale trucks. I also enjoy cooking and like to play games on the PS5 to relieve stress
- Functional modelling is a rather unusual hobby. Where does your fascination for it come from? The interest started when we bought a remote-controlled car for our son. I saw the trucks in the shop and I was hooked. I don’t just assemble them, I also make many of the parts myself. The hobby offers a lot of variety and is a great way to wind down after a hard day at work.
- I understand. Do you have a favourite dish that you like to cook …? For special occasions, a beautiful fillet of beef with our own demi-glace and red cabbage. I attach great importance to fresh, high-quality produce, not ready-made products. Otherwise, I like to cook everything you need on a daily basis: for example, vegetable stir-fries, soups and oven dishes.
- Three words that describe you…? Honest, reliable, helpful
- Your motto in life? Treat other people the way you would like to be treated and be respectful.
I couldn’t have found a better way to end it. Thank you very much for the nice interview. We are very happy that you are with us and wish you lots of fun with your tasks.
