Welcome, dear Tugce. You have only recently joined us and are now leading our support team. And that at just 26 years old. Unlike the other colleagues in Support, you don’t come from the hotel industry. How did you come to join us?
That’s right, I don’t come from the hotel industry. However, I worked at Siteminder for two years before HNS and heard a lot about HNS there. I quickly realised: ‘I really want to work there one day. That would be my absolute dream.’
And now your dream has come true.😉 You’ve done a lot before. What other stations were involved?
Apart from Siteminder, I’ve worked for the German Bundestag, Vattenfall, Good News Magazine, Malteser International and Assa Abloy. So I’ve tried out a lot of different roles and departments. But the hospitality industry, especially the software sector, inspired me so much that I quickly realised that I wanted to stay in this industry. And now – as Head of Customer Support & Services – I’m sure I’ve found the right place. 😊
So you already have a lot of experience. We are delighted that you are now with us and enriching us with your many new ideas. What excites you about your new job with us? 😊
Through my many different professional experiences, I quickly realised that contact with people is very important to me. Perhaps that also explains why I worked in sales for almost 7 years. However, the cherry on the cake is missing, as they say. When I became a team leader in my previous job, I realised that I not only appreciated the contact with customers, but also with colleagues and employees.
As Head of Support at HNS, I have taken a big step. It’s a huge opportunity for me to be able to take over the management at my age and have the chance to really realise my passion. And this in a company that I have looked up to for so long and in an industry that I have learnt to love. I can’t imagine anything better. 😊
I’m very pleased to hear that. I am sure that you will master your new position with flying colours. What tasks will you take on with us?
I took over the role of Head of Customer Support & Services here in May. And it’s exactly the month of my birthday – so things are already off to a good start. My tasks include not only managing the department, but also coordinating customer enquiries. Be it in support or in the set-up phase. It is important to me that we give our customers a pleasant time with us – during and after the decision process in favour of HotelNetSolutions – and that we are always at their side. So, to all our customers or potential customers out there: please get in touch if you need support. ‘That’s what I stand for with my name’ – as Claus Hipp said so beautifully 😉.
Sounds like a lot of variety. I hope you have a lot of fun with it. 😊 Speaking of fun – what do you like to do outside of work?
I have fun with lots of things. Be it reading, cooking or travelling. Apart from that, I like to play board, card and video games and watch films in my free time. However, the films really have to be very good. But my favourite thing to do is go out with my husband. We love travelling by car and making the journey our destination.
You’ve probably already had a few adventures. Is there a particular travel story that you remember fondly?
Oh yes, there are a few of those. Once, for example, we wanted to go to Prague by car and then spontaneously travelled on to Budapest. But the journey didn’t end there. We travelled on to the south of Hungary to Szeged, a city on the border with Serbia and Romania. It is also one of the most beautiful small towns we have ever seen. So spontaneity is a little more important than we initially thought 😉
A real road trip.😊 Is there any other secret talent or quality that we should definitely know about you?
I definitely have green fingers. But it’s not quite that secret. Plants and flowers are simply my element. I can spend hours on them. The only thing that hasn’t worked out so well for me so far is the Acer japonicum. 😃 A beautiful tree, but it’s the only one I can’t quite get green – or rather red. 😉
Then I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you’ll make this tree blossom too. Thank you very much for the interview, dear Tugce. We are very happy that you are with us. 😊
