Some people bring a breath of fresh air – others a whole breeze of passion, style and experience. We are very lucky to be able to welcome both at once. Andrea not only brings a wealth of marketing and PR experience, but also personality, a sense of style, strategic vision and, above all, a real appetite for new things. When someone has spent many years looking after international premium brands, building teams and developing strategies – and has never lost sight of aesthetics and humanity in the process – then it’s clear: this is going to be exciting.
We met with our new colleague for an introductory interview.
Andrea, welcome to the team! Before we talk about your new role: What did you do before joining HotelNetSolutions?
I worked in fashion and lifestyle marketing for over 20 years – both on the corporate and agency side. In my early 20s, I completed a PR traineeship at a renowned agency for luxury brands in Munich and, over the course of time, have looked after clients such as Prada, Hugo Boss and Bulgari. I traveled a lot to international fashion weeks and was able to accompany exciting brands live. Looking back, it was an exciting time. In 2011, I moved to Berlin with my husband. We started our family here – and I continued to develop my professional career. At the same time, I also set up a sustainable lifestyle blog. I would say that I am someone who likes to bring many threads together and is passionate about getting involved in new things.
And now a switch to the hotel tech world – what attracted you to HNS?
In fact, the HNS website immediately appealed to me. I saw the website and was immediately impressed by the brand portfolio, the sophisticated target group and the friendly team appearance. The whole way of communicating is professional and at the same time very approachable, which I liked. I also love hotels. There are few things better than waking up in a stylish hotel room and being pampered – good design and good service are special moments that stay with you for a long time. I find it incredibly exciting that I can now contribute my expertise to an industry that is so aesthetically pleasing, sophisticated and currently undergoing major change.
What exactly will you be doing at HotelNetSolutions?
I head up the Marketing & Partner Management department, which means I work with my team to further develop the brand strategy, strengthen HNS’s public image and work with customers and partners on exciting collaborations. Above all, I want to ensure that the values of HotelNetSolutions – such as quality, individuality and innovation – are reflected. At the same time, it is essential for me to ask the right questions: Who are our customers? What really motivates them? What do they need? Not just in technical terms, but also emotionally – and how can we meet these needs.

Sounds like a broad range of tasks. What is your professional focus?
I’m a strategic thinker, but I come from a practical background – I think that’s my greatest strength. I love thinking about brands holistically: from the market to the target groups to a stringent communication strategy. It’s important to me that communication always has a solid foundation – and still remains creative.
How do you prefer to work? What is important to you in a team?
It is important to me to communicate with my team as equals, always characterized by appreciation and transparency. I am a very communicative person, but I am also a good listener. In addition to the professional context, you also have to deal with the personality of each team member – we are not just workhorses, we also want to be seen personally. However, every team also needs a clear structure – a concrete plan gives room for creativity. And I believe in an open feedback culture. People need perspective and trust – and you can only get that if you are open and honest with each other.
And outside of work – what do we need to know about you?
I am definitely an active person. Yoga, fitness, tennis – I need them to clear my head. I’m also passionate about gardening and enjoy everything that blooms – it never has to be perfect, but it has to be alive. At the moment, I’m also very interested in the topic of “longevity” – how to live healthier and more consciously for longer, even in everyday life. And of course, my family and friends have the highest priority in my life.
Last question: What do you wish for your time at HNS?
I want us to make a difference together. That we become more visible as a brand – in an authentic, strong and creative way. And I’m looking forward to new ideas, great colleagues and inspiring industry discussions. I’m very grateful to be here – and I’m really looking forward to everything that’s to come.
Dear Andrea, it’s great to have you here. Here’s to lots of good ideas, new approaches and a strong brand presence – together with you .
