Welcome, dear Dominique. You have been with us since the beginning of May. The obligatory first question: Have you settled in well?<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

At the beginning, of course, everything was completely new for me. Despite the hotel industry background I have, it is quite different to suddenly be on the other side. From the hotel industry to technology – I think that describes my entry very well. Nevertheless, I felt very welcome right from the start and was curious about the many new insights and the technical know-how that I am gradually getting to know. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

So you love challenges. What exactly did you do before? <\/strong> HNS? <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

I first went from Halle (Saale) to Nuremberg for a stopover. After finishing school, I decided to train as a tourism assistant and moved to southern Germany to do so. I was attracted by the mix of tourism and travel, but unfortunately I found that this training lacked practical experience. That’s why I chose a different path, but one that was quite obvious to me in terms of the subject matter. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Let me guess: You chose the hotel industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Exactly, that was probably obvious now. I trained as a hotel manageress and, like so many at HNS, worked in the hotel industry for many years. It’s obvious that Nuremberg and Berlin are quite different. I was attracted by the big city life in a metropolis and now I have been living in Berlin for 13 years and there are still so many corners that even I don’t know yet. In Berlin, I have already worked in various hotels and until recently I had a daily view of Alexanderplatz, as I was most recently employed at the H2 Hotel as a front office shift leader. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Your job in support is quite technical. What appeals to you about the new tasks? <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

\n

Yes, that’s right. The job in support is indeed technical. However, I felt like taking a different path and learning something new, as my previous job no longer fulfilled me. Therefore, I was looking for a new challenge that still had something to do with my learned profession. Since I had not worked with HNS before in my everyday professional life, it is also a complete change and challenge for me to learn all the tricks of the system. But that’s exactly what I wanted. I enjoy taking on tasks and finding solutions to problems right from the start. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

And what tasks will you take on here?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

I am employed as Project Manager Customer Service & Support and will take care of the requests of our hoteliers. Above all, concerns about OnePageBooking will be part of my duties. I will also train new customers so that they are familiar with all the tricks of their new system. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

What do we need to know about you outside of work? What do you like to do in your free time? What do you like? <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Since I am an absolute dog fan, I spend a lot of time with my dog in my free time. We are often out in nature and go for walks in the Grunewald forest, for example. Besides my dog, my second great passion is photography. If you think that my dog is the perfect photo subject, I’m afraid I have to disappoint you. Since he doesn’t like to be photographed, you’ll find more city photography in my portfolio. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

There are more than enough photo objects in Berlin. Is there anything else we need to know about you? <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

If there’s time left over besides my dog and photography, I also like to read. You probably hear this answer quite often. I don’t really have any particularly exciting hobbies, but just “normal” ones?
